The Watercress Company and The Wasabi Company Choose the Great Wall Steed
The Watercress Company and The Wasabi Company were two smaller businesses that were combined to create a salad production business. Growing over 100t of high-quality watercress, baby leaf salads and wasabi, the products are sold throughout the UK and Mainland Europe.
A fleet of rugged, robust Great Wall Steeds assist in the maintenance and production of watercress and wasabi. We caught up with Managing Director Tom Amery of The Watercress Company to get an insight into why they chose the Steed.
What are the Great Wall Steed’s used for?
Primarily managers within the business use the trucks to drive over unsteady, off-road terrains in order to access the fields and farms on a daily basis.
Why did The Watercress Company and The Wasabi Company opt for the Great Wall Steed?
They chose the Great Wall Steed to replace their fleet of trucks due to the exceptional price, practicality and the trucks light weight.
How was the Steed introduced to the business?
After test-driving a Great Wall back in 2013, the company decided that the Steed was a suitable vehicle to meet the requirements of the business. Since driving the truck in 2013 they have purchased five Steeds.
Are the Steed’s reliable and capable?
The Watercress Company’s Managing Director disclosed that the trucks have continued to be very reliable with no issues.
How is the fuel-economy?
Tom claimed that the Steed’s fuel-economy is, “Comparable if not better than other vehicles we have used, and possibly 8-10% better”.
Managing Director Tom also revealed that he would definitely recommend Great Wall to other businesses and plans to buy more Steeds as the business continues to grow.
